Introduction to quantitative methods in economics

The course introduces you to quantitative methods, so that you will be better able to complete your continued economics studies.

The first part of the course aims to provide you with the knowledge of basic mathematical methods for further studies in microeconomics and macroeconomics. The second part gives you the tools of basic statistical methods for conducting hypothesis tests on economic issues.

This is a 7.5 credit course.

Teaching Format

Instruction is given in the form of lectures and group work. The language of instruction is English.


Assessment

The course is examined on the basis of a written examination. Students may be awarded examination credits during the course through voluntary partial examination during the course.

Examiner

The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.


Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
